Violin & Viola Lessons

Teaching music is so much more than learning to play difficult concertos and winning every audition. I enjoy the challenge of working with the student as an individual. My students will learn critical thinking skills and they will gain confidence through the hard work of consistency. They will learn how great it feels to work on a long-term project…whether that is Twinkle or a Concerto. They will learn how to practice and perform, all the while developing skills that will carry over into all areas of their lives.

“Teaching music is not my main purpose. I want to make good citizens. If children hear fine music from the day of their birth and learn to play it, they develop sensitivity, discipline and endurance. They get a beautiful heart.”

Shinichi Suzuki

If any of your children play violin or viola and are interested in lessons, Cale and Adelyn have been taking violin lessons on Zoom from Jenny Walvoord since March 20 and are really progressing well in this new format! Cale is starting from Suzuki Method book 1 and Adelyn is doing pre-book 1 exercises. This can be done no matter where you live! Jenny is an excellent musician and I highly recommend her!
